The second amendment is the most important one we have.  We the people need to protect this amendment at all cost!  If the government (and others) suceed in taking this Amendment from us, then all other Constitutional Rights will follow.  The people out to remove this Right from us should be charged with treason.

All people of the United States of America should have the right to keep and bear arms........this right "shall not be infringed."  It does not matter gender, race, age, creed...........every American Citizen has this right.  If you have committed a crime, served your time ("paid your debt to society") - you should get all of your Constitutional Rights back!

If a person has committed a crime and is deemed too dangerous to own a gun, well then that criminal should have never been let back on the streets!

Politicians and any others who fear the American people who own guns should really come out and say "we want to take over the country, but can't because you own firearms."  They can pry my gun from my cold dead fingers........after they have "received" some of my bullets!

I hope that I am not the only one that feels this way.  I would like to see what you have to say.

This is a very good letter to the editor. This woman made some good points. For some reason, people have difficulty structuring their arguments when arguing against supporting the currently proposed immigration revisions. This lady made the argument pretty simple.

Newspapers simply won't publish letters to the editor which they either deem politically incorrect (read below) or which does not agree with the philosophy they're pushing on the public. This woman wrote a great letter to the editor that should have been published; but, with your help it will get published via cyberspace!

Written in response to a series of letters to the editor in the Orange County Register:

Dear Editor:

So many letter writers have based their arguments on how this land is made up of immigrants. Ernie Lujan for one, suggests we should tear down the Statue of Liberty because the people now in question aren't being treated the same as those who passed through Ellis Island and other ports of entry.

Maybe we should turn to our history books and point out to people like Mr. Lujan why today's American is not willing to accept this new kind of immigrant any longer. Back in 1900 when there was a rush from all areas of Europe to come to the United States, people had to get off a ship and stand in a long line in New York and be documented. Some would even get down on their hands and knees and kiss the ground. They made a pledge to uphold the laws and support their new country in good and bad times. They made learning English a primary rule in their new American households and some even changed their names to blend in with their new home.

They had waved good bye to their birth place to give their children a new life and did everything in their power to help their children assimilate into one culture.

Nothing was handed to them. No free lunches, no welfare, no labor laws to protect them. All they had were the skills and craftsmanship they had brought with them to trade for a future of prosperity. Most of their children came of age when World War II broke out. My father fought along side men whose parents had come straight over from Germany, Italy, France and Japan . None of these 1st generation Americans ever gave any thought about what country their parents had come from. They were Americans fighting Hitler, Mussolini and the Emperor of Japan. They were defending the United States of America as one people. When we liberated France, no one in those villages were looking for the French-American or the German American or the Irish American. The people of France saw only Americans. And we carried one flag that represented one country. Not one of those immigrant sons would have thought about picking up another country's flag and waving it to represent who they were. It would have been a disgrace to their parents who had sacrificed so much to be here. These immigrants truly knew what it meant to be an American. They stirred the melting pot into one red, white and blue bowl.

And here we are in 2007 with a new kind of immigrant who wants the same rights and privileges - Only they want to achieve it by playing with a different set of rules, one that includes the entitlement card and a guarantee of being faithful to their mother country. I'm sorry, that's not what being an American is all about I believe that the immigrants who landed on Ellis Island in the early 1900's deserve better than that for all the toil, hard work and sacrifice in raising future generations to create a land that has become a beacon for those legally searching for a better life. I think they would be appalled that they are being used as an example by those waving foreign country flags.

And for that suggestion about taking down the Statue of Liberty, it happens to mean a lot to the citizens who are voting on the immigration bill. I wouldn't start talking about dismantling the United States just yet.

I for one am getting excited to hear that Fred Thompson will be announcing his candidacy.  I feel that he stands for America and believes in the Constitution.  If Fred were to ask Newt Gingrinch to be his Vice President, I feel that will be a winning ticket.  They are both very patriotic and both believe in the Constitution as it was written.  If by chance (I think a slim chance) Newt was to announce and he won the primary, then he should ask Fred to run with him.  Though I feel Fred would be better in the Presidential position for the first 8 years.  Newt wrote the Contract with America and he believes that we need to return to that, and I agree.  I would love to see them as President/Vice President and then eventually have all new faces in the Senate and House of Representatives.  These positions were never meant to be full time or career positions.  The positions are to represent the American people, not dictate us nor continuously write laws that go against our Constitution.  The power must go back to the people or I fear a Revolution will happen.  I for one am tired of hearing how Washington represents the American people, when in reality it now appears to represent themselves!  They have all gone totally against our Constitution and have put entirely too much power in the hands of the Federal Government.  Rudy is a democrat posing as a republican; John is too much Washington - a prime example of making a full time career of politician; Mitt changes his mind too much to go along with the office he is running for; unfortunately, the media does not allow us to know about the other candidates as they do not put them in the news (this is the same for the democratic side - you only hear of Hillary and Obama).  Washington has forgotten that they work for us, not rule us.  We the people need to remind them of this fact before they totally take over and then we sit wondering "what happened"!

I really hope that everyone has done what they could to let their Senators and Representatives know that this bill should not be approved.  It is utterly ridiculous that the government (the people that are SUPPOSED to work for us) would think that us as Americans would want to just allow illegal aliens invade our country.  They do not speak our language, carry our views nor do they wish to do these things.  They just want to come into our country illegally and get everything for free!  Using our tax dollars no less!  There are actual immigrants that come into our country the proper way because they truly want the American dream.  I agree with them coming and support them.  But these people are the exception and they come with the intent to become American and do things the "proper" way.  By allowing the illegals to stay the government is smacking the good immigrants in the face and truly disrespecting them and all Americans.  The government works for us!  They should be doing what us, true Americans, request and want.  Not creating their own agendas and forcing us to accept them.  If all of these illegal aliens are allowed to stay and are given the same rights as all other citizens, then the conservatives are doomed.  The Dems just give and give to them, therefore the illegals will cater to their wants and agenda.  Go to Numbersusa.com they will assist you in contacting your senators and representatives so you can tell them to stop!  I tried calling Senator Spector and Senator Casey's phone, but their mailboxes were full.  Senator Spector has an alternate number which I called and left a message.  Our Constitution was written to protect the CITIZENS of the United States and we need to do whatever it takes to make sure this is how it remains.  It was not written to help illegal aliens!  They have no rights in this country.  They are criminals...........hence the description ILLEGAL ALIEN.

Bill O'Reilly is usually pretty good with his views.  But I strongly disagree with him when he says that he supports this Bill.  Reluctantly supporting this is WRONG, any kind of support for this Bill is WRONG.  This Bill deserves no support and the illegals MUST be sent home.  period, no exceptions!  Their children born in this country can go home with the parents.  When the parents (or should I say IF) come back legally, then the kids can return.  Or the kids can wait until they are 18 and return then.
